I am surprised at this statement of the stage director. Has be never heard of Künneke’s VETTER (1920)? Or Kalman’s BAJADERE (1921)? Or the various Charell productions (LUSTIGE WITWE 1926 etc.)? Perhaps he should have consulted his dramaturg Mr. Klein before giving this TV interview.
