And how silly to integrate again the endless and boring LGBTxyz+*^-subject into the Fledermaus.
Do you really think that a ridiculous fish-net is „proof“ of a gay content in the Fledermaus where there isn’t any?
Of course, one can put gay elements in every opera/operetta without any logic although there is not the faintest sign of homosexuality in a textbook.
But for which reason??? Why is it so common nowadays to modify textbooks/libretti?
It is respectless against the creator of the work and against the intelligent spectators who know what they are watching/listening to!
And - again - why don’t you stage modern compositions to realize your ideas?
(I guess because there is not much on the market which has really quality today…)

If stupidity, disrepectfulness and tackiness come together we have such a result.
I always thought that - meanwhile - the nadir had already been reached when it comes to the staging of operas and operettas. But I‘m wrong. Obviously, there is still much space downwards.
Why don’t you use contemporary compositions for such nonsense and leave the great oeuvres of the past in peace!
Thank goodness that Johann Strauss can‘t see/hear this unbearable cruelties any more!!
