Yes,Mr. Gänzl, it has been wonderful to read your words. I do love the Lecocq operettas and I had the fortune to see a theatre performance of LA FILLE DE MADAME ANGOT in Toulouse, open-air for all who wanted to enjoy it. It was offered free and it was conducted nientemeno che da Michel Plasson (I even had a nice conversation with him). It's indeed a special work and il faut le mettre parmi les meilleurs succès de l'opérette, together with DIE FLEDERMAUS, DIE LUSTIGE WITWE and let me add L'ACQUA CHETA!!!

Great review, Kurt. I heartily concur withall But I did wonder what became of the scintillating ballet music which really sparkles on the two CD Mady Mesple/Jean Doussatd EMI recording. Was that not part of the original pproduction?
