I am really sorry that we didn't get to see The Queen’s Theatre production of "The Hired Man".
I think music is brilliant and goes straight to the heart.
The show tells a very good and powerful story with really beautiful music - I should know as we have seen it eleven times!

I was once MD for a production of The Matchgirls - dreary!!!!! The band parts bore little relation to the vocal score and were withdrawn for hire after I complained! An awful show - but there were lots of British musicals at that time that were terrible: Joey, Joey for example! And did you ever see Troubadour?

I sat through it several times (to see if it was right fir Australia.. answer NO!) and only the socialistically devoted were enthused. Which perhaps they still are. We'll have THE MATCHGIRLS (errgh!) back next!!!!
