I have.a copy of his book,very well presented. It contains much of interest. In version the photos and illustrations are included appropriately within the text, which is a must for me.it makes for a more interesting book. I wish him well for the success he deserves. My own book on Gung’l has yet to be reviewed although comments have been favourable

Should be a fascinating read! Don’t forget that Capriccio has a 4-CD set (C7147) of excerpts from 16 of Ziehrer’s works to whet your appetite! Artistes included Renata Holm, Peter Seiffert, Anton Dermota and Kurt Equiluz on recordings dated 1950 – 2011.

RECENTLY THANKS TO DARIO SALVI, I HAVE FALLEN FOR THE OPERETTAS OF ZIEHRER (AND THERE ARE A LARGE NUMBER OF THEM, MOST, SADLY, UN-RECORDED. MY HOPE FOR THE NEW YWAER IS THAT NAXOS, NOW THAT IT HAS VIRTUALLY FINISHED ITS STRAUSS OPPERETTASERIES, WILL TURN ITS ATTENTIONTO ZIEHRER, MILLOCKER, SUPPE AND OTHER VIENNESE OPERETTA COMPOSERS, AND THATOTHERRECORDING COMPANIES WILL DO THE SAME – MAY IT BE DEAR LORD, MAY IT BE1
