Nothing makes love’s longing bloom as intensely as a heavy crisis! Or so the saying goes. At the restaurant Zum schwarzen Ferkel (The Black Pig) in Berlin, Brigitte Schomann has initiated a cabaret series. On Saturday, November 15th, singer Mads Elung-Jensen and pianist Dirk Rave invite audiences to a joyful evening with German and Danish war time love songs.
There will be music by Werner Richard Heymann, Willi Kollo, Gerhard Winkler, Kai Normann Andersen and Aage Stentoft, as well as brand new cabaret songs by the Russian-Berlin composer Katia Tchemberdji.
The evening’s special guest will be Italian countertenor Leo Zapitelli, who will bring his Mediterranean warmth (and wonderful voice) to foggy Berlin.
The restaurant offers an optional cabaret meal. Free entrance, everyone is most welcome!
